In my second year of university, we had a rotation that was solely focused on the design and generation of corsetry. I thoroughly enjoyed this module as corsetry was one of my main focuses for choosing the degree of Contour Fashion.

My sketchbook was a very rough generation of ideas and I struggled with my concept for a long time. I wanted to focus on structural architecture as I felt this related quite closely to corsetry (with the use of strong lines and sculpting), but as I furthered my research, I became inspired by the tension/struggle of nature to accommodate man-made architecture.
The final garment was an over-bust, under-wired, cupped, hip-flared corset. It was constructed of embroidered floral mesh, rigilene boning, corsetry mesh with a centre front steel busk.
This page I don't feel illustrates the amount of work, trial and error and research that goes in to this project but the sketchbook outlines most of the documented work.
